Isn’t it strange? Words. Something I love. And something this beautiful can steal my breath away in a such perverse, painful way.

I used to think that reading is a form of escape. For as long as you want, you cease to exist in this reality and get looped into another world of your own choice. But this, I didn’t choose it. And it possesses me like a darkness of the night. Unfurls my fears, stirs the monsters. I get unwillingly intoxicated by it, helpless to stop it and horrified that I. cannot. stop. reacting.

Something so beautiful makes me bleed because I know exactly how it feels.

It is an open secret, what the easiest method anyone can use to destroy me is.

Go on, anyone. Hit me with your hardest. Hit me where it hurts the most. Everything. Today. I will scream within me, but silence is all you are going to hear.

Though it is nothing like Studio Ghibli in Mitaka, Tokyo, the upside-down house somehow reminds me of it. I wonder if there are anything to play in the house, like the Ghibli museum….

On another note, sister and I are of like mind.

Sis: We have to go to Universal Studios in Osaka in 2014. Do you know why?
Me [immediately]: Because the Harry Potter theme park will be opened by then! Let’s go!!!

“Trace Heavens” is a series of sculptures created by using the sunlight. Artist James Nizam made incisions into the structure of a house and manipulate light, together with time.

The large black and white photographs depict the transformation of darkened rooms into uncanny light sculptures that intersect elegant geometry with math-class daydreaming. Bridling sunlight into streamlined rays via perforated and sliced walls, and with the aid of artificial fog to intensify the slants of light, Nizam creates imagery that might bend our perception of photography.

The majority of works in the exhibition were created in a darkened studio space where small mirrors were fastened to ball joints for easy pivoting, perfect for manipulating the light streaming through holes in the walls.

… Nizam sometimes had as little as five minutes of perfect sunlight in which to create his images. And the process of waiting for those brief periods no doubt felt like déjà vu for a photographer who has spent plenty of time in dim rooms watching dust dancing in sunlight.”

 Sleek, stark and elegant. I would very much like to have that globe of light piercing into my room.

I’m going to start posting more about stuff that catches my eye.  They can be about anything – art installations, music, photography, shows, medical updates… Since my interests are so varied, all these will be under the dump site of ”Interesting Stuff”. How original, I know.

Swiss artists, Gerda Steiner and Jorg Lenzlinger, one-upped that fantasy and created a fairy-tale wonderland – the Falling Garden, at San Staë church for the Canale Grande 50th Biennial of Venice in 2003.

The Doge (Mocenigo) needed a church so as to be able to have a monumental tomb built for himself, the church (San Staë) needed a saint so as to be able to be built, the saint (San Eustachio) needed a miracle so as to be pronounced a saint, the miracle needed a stag in order to be seen, and we built the garden for the reindeer. The visitors lie on the bed above the doge’s gravestone, and the garden thinks for them.
