Bangkok in Mono and Colours

So. Bangkok with the college mates again! This time, there are a lot more peeps and harder for cohesiveness, but I reckon everyone had their fulfilling share of shopping therapy. Oh, shopping!

1. Tuk-tuk! There are many of these auto-rishaws in Thailand. They got some memorable screentime with Pierce Brosnan in this VISA ad:

I managed to try the tuk-tuks when I went to Bangkok for work last year, and my my, though my experiences were not as dramatic as Pierce’s in the ad, the tuk-tuks really did go in all sorts of weird fashion, as if the laws of the roads do not apply for them. There was one incident where the tuk-tuk I was in travelled perpendicular to the traffic and it got stuck halfway in front of a motorist who stared us down fiercely. My colleague and I went, “errrr.. *dart eyes uncomfortably*” and wished ourselves invisible.

2. Matthew, the dude who speaks too fast for me to comprehend his words. Yahwee, my pretty roomie with that perfect skin. Beebs, my nanny full of wisdom and humour. They were looking at the maps because our cabby drove us to some strange place that was not Chatuchak Market.

3. Oh these are so pretty! I have no idea what they are but look! The bulbs become colourful flowers of some sorts upon growing! How does the lady even know what colour the bulbs will grow into?!

4. I want a doggie. No wait, I want a shih tzu, a yorkshire terrier, a husky and a L…l..labbit!

5. These are lanes in Chatuchak Market [oh yeah, we finally found our way there]. The place is so huge that, after a while, all the lanes look the same to us and we merely walked and perspired and bought drinks, repeat and rewind. Not a fan of this place, to be honest.

6. Awww…

7. Pig trotters. Yikes! I will never eat this in Sillypore but somehow, I kept stuffing myself with it in Bangkok. There was no ‘smell’ and the meat simply melt in your mouth. Awesoooome. How my friends got me to try it out was slyly brain-washing telling me that it contains oodles of collagen and is very good for the skin. *cough* I’m a sucker for anything that can potentially improve my skin condition.

8. I thought this was interesting, something which you will not see in Sillypore. My friends chided me, “WHY are you taking un-glam shots of people?!” Oops.

9. Part of our apartment! Big and roomy, iLike.

10. One of the 2938462981 shops in Platinum Mall, the best place to go for cheap clothes.

11. Was testing the power of the LX5, ha ha. We had this lovely cup of creamery in one of the shopping malls when we were too tired to shop and had to rest our feet.

12. Somewhere in Siam area..

13. She was going around doing her stuff when I told her to ‘freeze’. Ha ha.

14. It was my first time at Patpong, a tourist spot. The beggar was in the middle of the road, waving and talking to anyone who approached him.

15. Hmmm…

16. Just a boy I thought was really cute.

17. Ok, ewwww…. This is so gross. Would any of you try these? I was so disgusted, yet fascinated, thus the pictures. Lol [The stuff on the left of the picture are scorpions].

18. Was in two minds about putting the pictures up on my lovely [ha ha] blog. Tainted and defiled. Gross maximus! Seriously, will any one of you readers try these??

19. On the last day, YH and I had a very satisfying feast at MK restaurant where the waiters and waitresses did a cute little dance come a certain time. T_T

20. This came in the bill, a nutrition report.
