2. Moisturise, Moisturise, Moisturise

Oh hi peeps!

I am currently in my favourite state that is Melbourne – the land of QV cream and awesome, sinful food!

Today, I headed to Brunswick for 2 weekend markets [I’m a big fan of them]. It was a cold, blustery day with light rain and I was totally dressed for the weather… not! Passersby must have been puzzled seeing this strange girl exercise her ninja skills, sprinting and ducking from the wind behind walls and pillars along the street. I think I might even have exclaimed some “arghh!” at times. Well… I take comfort that no one knows me.

Though unprepared for the cold, it was good that I kept to my routine of moisturising my skin before leaving the apartment. The dermatologists I saw for my eczema all stressed on this point: ‘moisturise, moisturise, moisturise’. Do practise that even if you do not suffer from atopic dermatitis, it is always good for your skin!

It may take a while for an eczema sufferer to find out what works best for the skin. I have tried several combinations and so far, what helps me is this:

Bath:

  • QV body wash
  • Pinetarsol antiseptic wash, only when there are flare ups

After-bath

  • Elomet cream, only when there are flare ups [this thins the skin and is a controlled cream which requires a doctor’s prescription]
  • QV cream

QV and Ego did not ask me to write about their products, but I am happy to. My skin sucks up moisturiser like a thirsty elephant and QV’s rich formula relieves it. I started off with QV cream and only went on to use the body wash after a ‘why am I not using QV wash when the cream helps me so much?!’ question popped up in my mind months later.

Look what I found in a chemist shop in Brunswick! An entire range of QV for the face!

I got myself QV stuff which cannot be found in my country, along with another tub of the standard cream, which is not in the picture below.

Happy buys! I would have bought more, but am terribly worried about the weight of my luggage. It. is. very. very. heavy.

[In case anyone is still wondering, I was dressed only in a thin cardigan, a tank top and a short skirt. How inappropriate for this chilly weather!]
