It’s absolutely freezing in Melbourne!
Been a week ever since I touched down in Melb and I’ve just gotten used to the (perpetual air-con) weather when it decided to drop to less than 8 degrees. Wonderful. And it’s getting colder by the day as winter approaches. When the wind blows, it’s teeth-chatter-heart-shiver-and-body-tremble time. Brrr…
Melb city is confusing. Buildings are in blocks and streets are supposed to be linear and simple. But once I exit Paramount Service Apts (where I’m putting up for the 3 weeks in Melb), the numerous turns get me all disoriented and lost.
And the food’s very expensive over here. A meal of sandwich (which is just bread and vegetables afterall) and a drink can easily set me back by A$10. I’m getting broke from just eating!
Morning classes were always interesting; the topic’s called “Men, women, love and work”. It is very very interesting! I actually participated in class discussions willingly, something I have never done ever since….God knows when… secondary 4? Afternoon classes were a bore though. It doesn’t help that the classes were after lunch; you know, the eat-and-sleep syndrome.
I’m homesick.
I miss my bed, I miss my room. I miss my mum’s cooking, I miss my brother’s constant chattering. I miss my family, I miss the other half. I miss everything in Singapore, and I didn’t realise that til 1 night while talking to the other half, I burst into tears without expecting it.
Oh well. Gotta make the most of the next 2 weeks in Melb though.
FYI: I’m on 181, Exhibition Street, Paramount Service Apartments and my prepaid sim card number is 0-150-66-390. I think Singapore phones gotta dial a +61 instead of 0 to call me.
