Winter Wonderland

20th May 2004 – 3.34am, Melbourne time

It was freezing…. absolutely freezing! My fingers went numb and my heart stopped for a second the moment I stepped out of the airport. Does that mean that I will live a second longer in future?

The girls were really reading and the guys were really playing some game when we noticed the funny contrast between the sexes.

8 of us waited some 4 – 5 hours at the airport for the arrival of Iv-bro, Ben and Mei-mei. The 3 of them decided that Emirates was too lowly [was it Iv-bro or Ben who said he didn't want to smell...?] and SQ was more suited to their taste. Someday, one day, I would fly SQ first class. *dreamy faraway look* Alright, alright, going off-tangent. Anyway, we got bored waiting for the 3 of them and decided to venture outside for some distractions. That was when I realised 3 layers of clothings weren’t enough! Even Jerry’s thick jacket couldn’t protect me from the blasts of cold wind. Bleah. Developed a dry asthmatic-sounding cough within minutes in Melbourne winter air.

First step into the cold, wearing just one layer of clothing.

We took some really spastic but hilarious photos with 3 strange-looking figurines called bollards. A load of bollocks, I tell you [Nah, just jesting. You know I have lots of respect for cultural differences]. Glen the Man and Jerry did such stupid poses which had us doubling up in stitches. Our crazed laughter probably carried out all the way to Hilton Hotel, which was directly opposite the airport.

Poor Mrs Bollards.
